Red Raiders close out round two of Carmel Cup

PEBBLE BEACH, CALIF. – Wrapping up round two at the Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach Golf Links, Texas Tech's Lauren Zaretsky led the way for the Red Raiders on Saturday, carding a 2-over-par 74, during the event's second round.
Zaretsky sits tied for 14th in the 48-player field, while the Red Raiders sit seventh out of the eight teams.Â
Zaretsky, the Red Raiders scoring average leader from a season ago, fired an eagle on hole 18 to secure her spot inside the top-15. The junior ended her round with three birdies in the front nine putting her 1-over-par overall.
Klara Hurtova and Danique Stokmans shot the second and third-best scores, respectively, for the Red Raiders within the six-player, count-five format. Hurtova solidified her position, with two birdies in the back nine, to finish in the top-30 carding a 5-over-par 77 and Stokmans shot a 5-over-par 77 with one birdie on the back nine.
Texas Tech finishes round two in seventh place at 28-over-par (388), after totaling the top-five Red Raider scores from the day. The Red Raiders continue to lead Oklahoma by three strokes and trail
sixth-place TCU by 10 strokes.
The Red Raiders will continue with final-round action on Sunday, starting at 6:30 p.m. (PT) / 8:30 p.m. (CT), with Libby Fleming.
