Fan Information: Red Raiders host Kansas in another sellout
October 10, 2025 | Football
Kickoff between the Red Raiders and Jayhawks is slated for 6:30 p.m. Saturday inside Jones AT&T Stadium
LUBBOCK, Texas – After nearly a month's absence, Texas Tech Football is back inside Jones AT&T Stadium this Saturday night as the No. 9 Red Raiders host Kansas in a 6:30 p.m. kick with television coverage provided nationally on FOX. The Homecoming contest can also be heard nationally via the Texas Tech Sports Network.
Texas Tech is expecting another capacity crowd Saturday evening after announcing a sellout just over a week ago. Fans still looking to purchase tickets are encouraged to utilize SeatGeek, the official secondary ticket provider for Texas Tech Athletics.
For those with their seat already locked in for Saturday night, Texas Tech's gameday experience has been enhanced this season with several new features to know. Below is a listing of the key information all Red Raiders should know for gameday.
DOWNLOAD YOUR TICKETS AND BE READY TO "TAP AND GO" AT THE GATE
Texas Tech has introduced a new "tap and go" mobile ticketing system to assist fans with quicker entry each gameday. All football tickets, including premium areas, remain 100 percent mobile only but will not utilize a QR code for scanning moving forward. Instead, fans will place their downloaded mobile ticket near ticket scanners that will identify each mobile ticket wirelessly. Fans with multiple tickets will need to swipe horizontally to each ticket and tap it near the scanner for entry.
Most importantly, Texas Tech no longer accepts screenshots of mobile tickets in order to further protect ticket holders from scams or counterfeit purchases. As a reminder, fans are highly encouraged to download their tickets in advance of arriving to Jones AT&T Stadium in order to speed up the entry process and to ensure connectivity. Unable to make a game? Transfer your ticket to a friend using the Texas Tech mobile app or by accessing the online ticket account at TexasTech.com. Step-by-step instructions can be found here via TexasTech+.
TICKET REMINDERS IN ADVANCE OF ANOTHER SELLOUT CROWD
With Saturday's highly-anticipated matchup between Texas Tech and Kansas already reaching sellout status, the Texas Tech Athletic Ticket Office has issued several reminders and cautions regarding tickets for the game. The only two authorized sources of tickets for this game are tickets directly purchased through the Texas Tech Athletics Ticket Office and those purchased through its official secondary ticket partner, SeatGeek. Tickets purchased through any other source are not guaranteed to be valid, and the Texas Tech Athletics Ticket Office will not be able to assist fans with counterfeit tickets from an unauthorized source.
Please use extreme caution when buying through any other third-party source and remember that if a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Scalping and soliciting of tickets on the grounds of Jones AT&T Stadium is strictly prohibited. There will be an increased law enforcement presence at the stadium on gameday.
PROTECT THE TRADITION: TORTILLA TOSS ONLY ON THE OPENING KICKOFF
Red Raider fans are encouraged to help protect the longstanding Texas Tech tradition by only throwing tortillas during the opening kickoff this season. Following a 15-to-1 vote by the Big 12 Conference athletics directors earlier this month, Texas Tech will receive two warnings from the officiating crew followed by a 15-yard penalty for objects thrown on the field. The atmosphere inside Jones AT&T Stadium annually ranks among the best in the country, giving the Red Raiders homefield advantage each and every Saturday. Protect the tradition and protect the Red Raiders by throwing tortillas straight into the air and never on the field.
HEAD OVER TO RAIDER ALLEY, FEATURING SWITCHFOOT THIS WEEK
The best pregame party prior to kickoff is always at Raider Alley presented by Bud Light. This week's musical act is none other than Grammy Award winning Switchfoot, which takes the stage at 4:30 p.m. for a free concert in Raider Alley. The pregame festivities begin at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the heart of the Texas Tech campus in the Engineering Key. The Raider Alley Concert Series is once again sponsored by Davis Smith Law Firm.
DRONE SHOW SET FOR IN BETWEEN THIRD AND FOURTH QUARTERS
Texas Tech will light up the sky with a choreographed drone show Saturday night in between the third and fourth quarters. The show will take place over the South End Zone Building combined with various light sequences in the stadium for a can't-miss experience.
HOMECOMING IN RAIDERLAND
The Kansas game is the highlight of Homecoming weekend on the Texas Tech campus as alumni from across the country will arrive in Lubbock this week for festivities. Texas Tech will name its Homecoming King and Queen during a halftime ceremony Saturday. For more information regarding Texas Tech's Homecoming schedule, please visit here.
BIG 12 FALL TOUR VISITS THE TEXAS TECH CAMPUS
The Big 12 Conference Fall Tour will visit the Texas Tech campus this weekend with various events leading up to the Red Raiders hosting Kansas. As part of its events, the Big 12 will bring its tailgate tour to campus, providing various activations in Raider Alley throughout the afternoon leading into kickoff. For more information on the Big 12 Fall Tour, please visit here.
JONES AT&T STADIUM NOW HAS FIVE MARKETPLACES ON THE CONCOURSE
Fans looking for an efficient way to purchase concessions have five different grab-and-go marketplace options to try around Jones AT&T Stadium with the addition of "4th and Goal" near Gate 3 (northwest corner). The marketplace concept has been a popular attraction for Red Raider fans since its inception with "Touchdown Tavern" located on the south end zone concourse, the "Let's Go" and "Take Three" locations at Gate 1 (southwest corner) and Gate 4 (northeast corner) and "Matador Marketplace" on the west side mezzanine level.
GAMEDAY PARKING INFORMATION
All fans with pre-purchased parking can begin accessing lots on campus starting at 7:30 a.m. each gameday by using the printed parking passes issued by Texas Tech Athletics. Fans are reminded to please park in the assigned lot listed on the pass, and if the lot has a reserved space, please park in the space number listed. Cars not parked in the correct spot or cars impeding the spot next to them are subject to towing.
RV pass holders can access their parking location beginning at 5:30 p.m. Friday evening and must exit by 10 a.m. on Sunday. Fans wishing to tailgate are reminded that tends cannot exceed 10x10 or the size of the designated space.
As always, fans are encouraged to arrive early to ensure plenty of time to access the correct lot and enter Jones AT&T Stadium in time for pregame festivities with the Goin' Band from Raiderland and kickoff between the Red Raiders and Golden Lions.
THERE'S MORE TO LIKE ABOUT THE GAMEDAY EXPERIENCE
The gameday experience inside Jones AT&T Stadium has received another added boost this season with upgrades to Texas Tech's video displays and fireworks presentation. Texas Tech has increased its live-video windows on both the north and south videoboards with fans getting a 23 percent increase on the north end of the stadium and a 33 percent increase on both of the south displays. Texas Tech has also enhanced its in-game statistics with more prominent locations on each of its video displays.
Texas Tech has also added "picture in picture" to show fans both live game action with the addition of replays to keep up with the Red Raiders' fast-paced offense on the field. In between the action, Texas Tech will update fans on what's happening across the country with regular score updates and live look-ins at games across college football.
Texas Tech's iconic entrance now features an expanded fireworks and special effects package. Texas Tech will also debut new lighting sequences for between the third and fourth quarters and at kickoff. As a reminder, Texas Tech utilizes a lighting system that allows for choregraphed patterns designed to music during its pregame entrance, in-between quarters and after touchdowns. Any persons who are susceptible to photosensitive seizures or other light sensitivities should not participate and should avoid exposure to the flashing light display.

GREET THE RED RAIDERS AT RAIDER WALK EACH GAMEDAY
Fans can greet the Red Raiders on their way into Jones AT&T Stadium each Saturday as Raider Walk will now start roughly two hours and 30 minutes prior to kickoff. Joey McGuire and the Red Raiders will be dropped around 4 p.m. Saturday immediately south of the Sports Performance Center and will walk north down Drive of Champions Avenue to their gameday locker room in the South End Zone Building. Fans are encouraged to line Drive of Champions as the Red Raiders will be joined by the Saddle Tramps and Texas Tech spirit programs.

Empty drink containers are allowed into Jones AT&T Stadium and all athletic venues.
JONES AT&T STADIUM REMAINS FULLY CASHLESS
Jones AT&T Stadium is a fully cashless venue at all points of sale, including with the Texas Tech Ticket Office, all concession stands and with Red Raider Outfitter, the gameday retailer of Texas Tech Athletics. All points of sale will accept credit and debit cards as well as contactless payment methods.
CITIBUS TO OPERATE SHUTTLE SERVICE FOR FANS
Citibus will provide roundtrip shuttle service beginning three hours prior to kickoff until one hour after the conclusion of the game at only $6 per person. Pick-up is located north of the John Walker Soccer Complex (Texas Tech Parkway & 10th Street) and northwest of Health Sciences Center (ADA Only, Texas Tech Parkway & 5th Street). Citibus will also provide fans shuttle service from the gameday parking lots to Raider Alley this season as part of its gameday transportation. The drop-off location on the north end of the Engineering Key is in addition to the normal Citibus gameday route. Citibus will only accept payment through the "Go Pass" app. Signage and QR codes will be available near each pickup location on gameday.
