Lady Raiders sign six on Wednesday

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Lady Raiders have signed six incoming freshmen to the 2026-27 roster as announced by head coach Krista Gerlich on Wednesday afternoon. Those six players coming to Texas Tech are Gianna Jordan, Jayda Kearney, Natalia Jordan, Moriyah Douglass, Milania Jordan and Ambrosia Cole.
Gianna Jordan | Point Guard | 5-7 | Dallas, Texas
Gianna Jordan is a 5-7 point guard from Dallas who is ESPN's No. 67-rated recruit in the 2026 class. The four-star recruit helped her team to two undefeated district championships, two Sweet 16 appearances and to an invite for the Chipotle Nationals tournament. An All-State selection and the District 4-6A Defensive Player of the Year, Gianna recorded 11.2 points per game, 4.4 assists per game, 4.1 rebounds per game and 2.7 steals per game in her two seasons at Southlake Carroll (2022-24). In addition, Gianna put up career numbers in a game when she scored 37 points and added 10 assists and eight steals.
"She is a prolific scorer, she can really drop dimes and she is a fantastic three-point shooter," Gerlich said. "Her defense is second to none and she is going to be a great point guard for us."
Jayda Kearney | Center | 6-5 | Caldwell, Texas
Jayda Kearney is a 6-5 center from Caldwell, Texas. A letterwinner for College Park and Caney Creek, Kearney was recently named the No. 1-rated recruit out of Houston by VYPE Magazine. In her junior season, she helped her team make a regionals appearance and received All-District accolades. During that year, she averaged a double-double with 14 points per game, 12 rebounds per game and four blocks per game. In addition, she put together a career-best 12 blocks in a single game. Competing on Team Lex UA and serving as the team captain, Kearney also averaged 14 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks per game in the 2025 season for them.
"She is a rim protector and a rim runner," Gerlich said. "She is going to be able to protect that paint for us, she is going to run the floor, she is going to rebound the basketball and she is going to be a fantastic presence for the Lady Raiders."
Natalia Jordan | Guard | 5-8 | Dallas, Texas
Natalia Jordan is a 5-8 guard from Dallas, who is joining her sisters in coming to Lubbock. While competing at Southlake Carroll, Natalia aided the team to back-to-back undefeated district championships, two Sweet 16 appearances and to the Chipotle Nationals. A two-time Academic All-District selection, Natalia was named the District 4-6A Newcomer of the Year as a freshman and was also a two-time First Team All-District honoree. Ranked No. 22 in the state of Texas, Natalia averaged 9.4 points per game, 3.3 assists per game, 5.3 rebounds per game and 2.3 steals per game with Southlake Carroll.
"She is a defensive dominator," Gerlich said. "I love her tenacity, I love her mindset and I love how hard she plays. She can get to the rim and she is going to be a fantastic spot up three-point shooter."
Moriyah Douglass | Forward | 6-4 | St. Louis, Mo.
Moriyah Douglass is a 6-4 forward out of St. Louis, Mo. A letterwinner in basketball, volleyball and cross country for John Burroughs High School, Douglass aided her team to the Class 5 state championship, averaging 9.7 points per game, 4.7 rebounds per game and adding 33 blocks on the season. The All-District and All-Conference selection also put up big numbers as a junior in 2024-25, averaging 16.7 points per game, 8.6 rebounds per game and 2.0 blocks per game.
"She is a 6-4 athlete who is going to play on the front of our press and who is going to rebound the basketball," Gerlich said. "She is going to lead us in transition, she is going to block shots at a high level and she is going to play some terrific defense."
Milania Jordan | Guard | 5-10 | Dallas, Texas
Milania Jordan is a 5-10 guard out of Dallas, the eldest of the Jordan sister trio. Originally in the Class of 2025, Milania reclassified into 2026 after a knee injury. Rated as the No. 15 recruit in the state of Texas, Milania was a part of three undefeated district championships, three Sweet 16s and helped her team to a No. 7 ranking in the state. Milania racked up the accolades during her high school career, earning a Fort Worth Star Telegram All-Area Offensive Player of the Year selection, a Dallas Morning News Second Team All-Area honor, TABC All-Region and All-State selections and more. The District 4-6A Newcomer and Offensive Player of the Year was also a three-time First Team All-District honoree and a three-time Academic All-District selection.
"She is a big, strong guard who is going to cause some mismatch problems for our opponents," Gerlich said. "She can shoot the three, she can take you off the bounce and she can defend the full length of the court."
Ambrosia Cole | Point Guard | 5-7 | Lubbock, Texas
A Monterey High School standout and Lubbock local, 5-7 point guard Ambrosia Cole is staying home after signing with Texas Tech. Cole was the second-leading scorer in the Plainsmen's run to the Class 5A State Championship last year. Rated a four-star prospect and the No. 92-ranked recruit in the Class of 2026, Cole is a TABC and TGCA All-State Selection who helped Monterey to three district championships and their historic run to a state title. Named Newcomer of the Year in her district, Cole posted a double-double in the state championship game with 16 points and 12 rebounds. In addition, she averaged 18 points per game, five rebounds per game and three assists per game in her junior year. As a sophomore, she averaged 18 points, five rebounds and three assists per game. Her career high in points scored is 41 and she set the school record in the 400m during track season.
"She is going to light up the USA the first time she steps on the floor," Gerlich said. "She is a prolific point guard, she can score in transition, and really, she's a bucket any time she wants. She can shoot the three, her change of pace is incredible and her defense is next level."
