Lady Raiders fall season comes to a close

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Lady Raiders closed out their fall season at the NCAA Doubles Championships after Yekaterina Dmitrichenko and Hailey Murphy fell to Southern California's duo of Lily Fairclough and Daniela Borruel on Wednesday.
The Lady Raiders put up a strong fight in doubles, with Dmitrichenko and Murphy taking the opening set 6-3 against USC's Fairclough and Borruel. The Trojans answered with a 6-2 second set to force a tiebreak. The Lady Raiders rallied, but USC forced a 10-7 finish to take the match.
The Lady Raiders wrapped up the fall season with strong numbers across the board, finishing with 55 singles wins and 31 wins in doubles. Freshman Kseniia Logvin led the team in singles, ending the season 11-3. Sophomore Elena Daskalova was just behind with a 9-6 singles record, followed by freshman Ella Brownback with a 9-7 record.
Doubles play proved to be a major strength for the Lady Raiders, highlighted by an appearance to the NCAA Doubles Championships and another undefeated pair of Daskalova and Arina Oreshchenkova, who went 4-0 together this fall.
