Softball moves up in rankings after 5-1 weekend

The Red Raiders moved up in all four polls after strong opening weekend
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech softball moved up in all four polls on Tuesday following a strong 5-1 start to the season at the NFCA Leadoff Classic.
The Red Raiders are now ranked No. 8 by Softball America and USA Softball and No. 11 by NFCA and D1Softball.
Tech's weekend has highlighted by a walk-off 6-5 victory over No. 16 Nebraska after scoring five runs in the top of the seventh inning the night before to defeat Penn State.
NiJaree Canady earned All-Tournament team honors after going 3-1 in the circle with 40 strikeouts over 20.2 innings and batting .364 with two home runs and six RBI including a three-run homer off Jordy Bahl to spark the Red Raider's comeback against the Cornhuskers.
