Red Raiders remain at No. 9 in national polls

LUBBOCK – Texas Tech is the No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament West Region but will also go into the national tournament at No. 9 in the Associated Press Top 25 and USA TODAY Coaches Polls. The Red Raiders have now been in the Top 10 of the national polls for a program record five straight weeks after not being ranked in the preseason through the 12th week of the season.
Tech entered the AP Top 25 for the first time this season in Week 13 on January 27 at No. 22 in the AP Top 25 and have now been ranked eight straight weeks. Along with the national polls, the Red Raiders are at No. 7 on Kenpom and in the NCAA NET.
Duke (31-3) remains the top-ranked team in the AP Top 25 and is followed by Houston (30-4), Florida (30-4), Auburn (28-5) and St. John's (30-4) in the top five. The Big 12 is also represented by No. 15 Iowa State (24-9), No. 17 BYU (24-9) and No. 21 Arizona (22-12).
March Madness begins for Texas Tech with a 2025 NCAA Tournament West Region First Round matchup against No. 14 UNC Wilmington at 9:10 p.m. on Thursday at the INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas. The regional site also includes No. 6 Missouri and No. 11 Drake playing at 6:35 p.m. on Thursday to set up Saturday's Second Round contest. Missouri (22-11) is ranked at No. 23 in the AP Top 25. The game between the Red Raiders and Seahawks (27-7) will be broadcast on truTV while the Texas Tech Sports Network radio call can be heard locally on Double T 97.3 and the national radio coverage is on SiriusXM channel 211.
