No. 14 Red Raiders take on Abilene Christian

Tech will face ACU tomorrow at 6 p.m.
LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 14 Red Raiders (27-9, 8-1) will take a short trip to Abilene to take on the Wildcats (9-26, 5-7) tomorrow at 6 p.m. at Poly Wells Field.
This will be just the second mid-week game of the season for Tech so far and its final mid-week on the road.

- Tech is coming off a series sweep over Kansas last weekend, defeating the Jayhawks by a combined score of 27-4 thanks to big performance from NiJaree Canady – who earned D1Softball Pitcher of the Week – and Lauren Allred who homered in all three games and led the team with six RBI and 13 total bases.
- Demi Elder returned to action in full capacity last weekend, starting every game in left field and making a huge impact with her bat. The senior hit .444 with a home run and drove in four runs while slugging .889.
- Lauren Allred had another monster week at the plate for the Red Raiders. The sophomore hit .400, homering in all three games and led the team with six RBI and slugging 1.300. Allred averaged just over one base per at-bat, as she had 12 at-bats and 13 total bases.
- NiJaree Canady gave her hometown fans everything they expected and more in her return to Kansas. The Topeka native threw a no-hitter in first outing and then tied her season high in strikeouts with 14 in second outing. She finished the weekend with a state line impressive enough to earn D1Softball Pitcher of the Week honors. Canady posted 12.0 IP, with 26 SO, allowing just 3 H and 1 ER.
- The Red Raiders lead the series 17-4 all time.
- Tech won 15-6 over the Wildcats last season.
- The Red Raiders are 7-3 in their last 10 games against ACU.
