LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech women's golf head coach JoJo Robertson announced on Thursday the addition of two new Red Raiders, Pia Eide and Denisa Vodickova. Both will join the program this fall.Â
Eide will be a freshman, joining the program from Stavanger, Norway, which is the third-largest city in the country. She attends Wang Stavanger and is set to graduate in June.Â
Eide is a member and represents the Sola Golf Club. She posted her career-best 54-hole score this past fall at the Srixon Tour 7 event, Sept. 14-15, shooting a 3-under-par 213. Eide finished in first place using single round scores of 69 (-3), 71 (-1) and 73 (+1). Her pair of under-par rounds were two of the five tallied under-par by the entire field over the three rounds at the event. Overall, Eide has won seven individual events as a junior golfer from 2019 to the present.Â
The 2021 Srixon Tour season closed with Eide as the leader in the U15 age class. She was awarded the 2021 Norwegian Golf Federation Girls Junior Scholarship. The NGF junior scholarship is awarded annually to a girl and a boy aged 13-16 who have shown progress and training enthusiasm throughout the season, as well as being a positive contributor to the environment both in the club and among their fellow players.
Meanwhile, Vodickova hails from Nové Mesto na Morave, Czechia but will join the Red Raiders after already being stateside after spending her freshman year at Wake Forest during the 2024-25 season. Vodickova's hometown is within two-and-half hours of her future teammate's, 2025 NCAA Regional qualifier Klara Hurtova, who will be a junior at Texas Tech next season. Both have played for the Czech Golf Federation.
Vodickova made her Demon Deacon debut at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate in their season-opening tournament, Sept. 9-11. She participated in four of Wake Forest's five tournaments in the 2024 fall season but did not see action in the spring. She had her first top-20 finish in her second collegiate event at the Windy City Classic, posting an 8-over-par 224 after rounds of 72 (E), 74 (+2) and 78 (+6). Vodickova recorded her second top-20 finish at the Charles Schwab Collegiate in the Demon Deacon's fall finale.
Vodickova has represented both the girls' and ladies' national teams for the Czech Republic, also playing on the 2022 and 2023 World Amateur Team Championship squads. Vodickova was on the winning 2021 and 2023 European teams at the Ping Junior Solheim Cup, with a match play record of 5-1.
Eide and Vodickova will join a 2025-26 Texas Tech roster that is set to return six players from the 2024-25 season, led by Hurtova (Jr.) and Lauren Zaretsky (Sr.), who are both NCAA Regional qualifiers as individuals. Robertson also signed Amy Squires earlier this year, who will be a freshman like Eide in the fall. Texas Tech lost three seniors to graduation from the 2024-25 season.
