Fans will be asked to wear red for the Aug. 30 season opener versus UAPB and Homecoming versus Kansas
LUBBOCK, Texas – Every week during the Texas Tech football season, one of the most frequent questions from Red Raider fans is "what color do I wear to the game on Saturday?"
Texas Tech has that answer as the athletics department announced Monday the fan color schemes for the first four home games of the season. Fans will be asked to wear red to both the Aug. 30 season opener versus Arkansas-Pine Bluff as well as on Oct. 11 when the Red Raiders welcome Kansas for Homecoming festivities on campus.
The Sept. 6 contest versus Kent State will be a "wear white" designation in recognition of Texas Tech's annual Agriculture Game promotion. Texas Tech will follow with its Raider Power promotion the next week versus Oregon State where the east side (including the student section) of Jones AT&T Stadium will be asked to wear white, while the west sections will be in red.
Texas Tech will announce additional color schemes (including a "wear black" designation) later in the season once game times and television designations are decided for its final three home games against Oklahoma State on Oct. 25, BYU on Nov. 8 and UCF on Nov. 15. Game times for Texas Tech's entire Big 12 schedule are determined on a 6-to-12-day basis by the league's television partners ESPN, FOX and TNT Sports.
Single-game tickets for all seven home games are on sale currently through the Athletic Ticket Office. Fans can purchase tickets online at TexasTech.com or by contacting a ticket sales representative at 806-742-TECH.
