Lady Raiders dominate at ACU Invitational

ABILENE, Texas – Freshman Kseniia Logvin and the duo of Arina Oreshchenkova and Elena Daskalova won their respective flights at the ACU Invitational this weekend. In total, Tech recorded 14 overall wins at the tournament.
In doubles, the pair of Oreshchenkova and Daskalova won their flight with three victories. First, they took down UT Arlington's Diana Kaibara and Sofia Selle, 6-4, before defeating Tarleton's Emma Persson and Clara Sobius by the same score. They won their flight with a 7-5 win over the Louisiana Tech duo of Zoie Epps and Maria Tsironi.
The tandem of Ella Brownback and Logvin made it to their doubles flight finals after overtaking the pairing of Nadia Nemeth and Anna Pinaieva (New Mexico State), 6-2, as well as Louisiana Tech's Diana Starodubtseva and Alice Brook, 6-2.
Logvin followed this up by winning her singles flight. The freshman picked up three wins over Selle (UT Arlington), 6-1, 6-2, Natalia Castaneda Guerrero (UTSA), 6-2, 6-0, and ended with a 7-6 (5), 6-3 victory against Tarleton's Persson. Logvin never dropped a set in singles at the competition.
Daskalova reached her flight finals in singles when she beat Texas State's Olivia Collins, 6-4, 6-1, as well as Tarleton's Adeliya Mukhutdinova in a three-set fight, 7-6 (11), 4-6, 7-6 (2). Oreshchenkova dropped her first singles match of the tournament, but battled back to win her flight's consolation draw with victories against Tsironi (Louisiana Tech), 6-2, 6-2, and Alice Klinteby (ACU), 6-3, 6-3.
Up next, the Lady Raiders head to Fort Worth, Texas for the ITA Regional tournament on Oct. 9-14.
