Red Raiders move up to No. 11 in AP Top 25

LUBBOCK – Texas Tech moved up one spot to No. 11 in the Associated Press Men's Basketball Top 25 after earning a road win at Baylor and then knocking off then-No. 6 Houston on Saturday at home. The Red Raiders (16-4, 6-1 Big 12) are currently on a five-game winning streak and have extended their program record to 21 straight appearances in the AP Top 25. Â
Along with the AP Top 25, Texas Tech comes in at No. 11 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll and are now at No. 18 in the NCAA NET. The Red Raiders earned a 90-86 win over Houston at United Supermarkets Arena to secure their second win over a top 10 opponent this season and are currently 3-4 against ranked opponents this season. Â
Arizona (20-0) remains the top-ranked team in the nation and is followed by UConn (19-1), Michigan (18-1), Duke (18-1) and Nebraska (20-0) in the top 5. The Big 12 is also represented by No. 8 Iowa State (18-2), No. 10 Houston (17-2) and No. 14 Kansas (15-5). Â
The Red Raiders return to action this weekend with a road game against UCF at 11 a.m. (CST) on Saturday in Orlando, Florida. Â

Texas Tech was unranked for the majority of the 2024-25 season but would rise to No. 8 in the final rankings after advancing to the Elite Eight. This year's team was ranked No. 10 in the AP Top 25 Preseason Poll for its highest preseason ranking in program history. The program is now on its longest streak with 21Â straight appearances in the AP Top 25.Â
