February 10, 2026 | Women's Golf
TUCSON, Ariz. — Texas Tech placed two golfers inside the top 10 at the Thunderbird Intercollegiate and closed with its strongest round of the week Tuesday, finishing fourth at Tucson Country Club after a final-round 2-over 290 — its best score of the tournament and the second-best round of the day among the 15-team field.
The Red Raiders climbed the leaderboard with their third round to finish at 24-over 888 (301-297-290) in the 54-hole event. No. 1 Stanford claimed the team title at 16-under 848, followed by No. 21 Baylor at 19-over and No. 22 Arizona at 20-over. Texas Tech edged BYU (26-over) by two shots to secure fourth place.
Lauren Zaretsky led Tech with a tie for fifth at 3-under 213 (72-72-69), highlighted by a 3-under 69 in the final round. Klara Hurtova joined her in the top 10, tying for eighth at 1-under 215 (69-74-72).
The finish marked Zaretsky's second consecutive top-five result to open the spring season and her third of the 2025-26 campaign. She has now posted seven straight rounds of par or better. Hurtova recorded her first top-10 finish of the season after earning three last year, which helped her secure an NCAA at-large bid.
Cameron Freund tied for 38th at 14-over 230 after a final-round 1-over 73. Maja Ambroziak finished tied for 52nd at 18-over 234 (79-77-78), and Amy Squires tied for 59th at 20-over 236 (81-79-76) after carding a 4-over 76 in the final round.
After opening the spring season with two events in nine days, the Red Raiders will take a brief break before returning to competition March 2-3 at the Lady Luck Invitational in Las Vegas.
