Tech hosts top 15 matchup for Big 12 home opener
LUBBOCK, Texas – No. 2 Texas Tech (25-1, 3-0) hosts arguably its biggest series of the season as they welcome in No. 12/13 Arizona (20-5, 3-0) this weekend. The series will begin on Friday at 6 p.m. followed by a 2 p.m. Saturday start and noon start on Sunday.
The Red Raiders are coming off a three-game sweep of Houston last weekend, outscoring the Cougars 33-7 through 17 innings of play. NiJaree Canady was named Pitcher of the Week again after tossing her second no-hitter of the season and dropping her ERA below 1.00.
Tech is 4-13 all-time against the Wildcats, with three of those wins coming last season after winning the series in Tucson last year before defeating Arizona in the Big 12 Tournament Championship game last May.
