Tech signs Bryant transfer Miguel Angel Machado

Machado went 17-11 in 2026 and was named a First Team All-Big South selection
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech Men's Tennis has announced the addition of former Bryant standout Miguel Angel Machado.
A native of Malaga, Andalusia, Spain, Machado spent the last two seasons at Bryant University where he played at the top-slot (2025-26) for the Bulldogs in both singles and doubles. Machado and doubles partner Daniel Baquero were ranked the No. 20 doubles duo in the country by ITA heading into the Spring portion of the 2025-26 season, and defeated a doubles duo from Virginia Tech before falling to the top-seeded Penn tandem.
A 2026 All-Big South First Team selection for both singles and doubles and an All-Big South Academic selection, Machado went 17-11 in singles play and was 18-13 in doubles action, including making it to the Big South Singles Championship match before ultimately falling to Timeo Puech of Longwood.
As a freshman in 2024-25, Machado went 23-8 in single play and was 14-6 in 20 dual matches.
Machado will join the Red Raiders ahead of the 2026-27 season and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
