Rusinek named First Team Freshman All-American

The two-way standout becomes the 27th all-time freshman All-American in program history
LUBBOCK, Texas – Fresh off a strong freshman campaign that was cut short due to injury, Texas Tech two-way standout Jesse Rusinek was named a First Team Freshman All-American by Perfect Game, the publication announced Thursday.
Rusinek was included on the first team as the lone two-way player selection.
A native of Brock, Rusinek hit .442 in his 120 at-bats with two home runs and 28 RBIs. On the mound Ruisnek made 11 appearances and tossed 13.0 innings and struck out 16. He held batters to a .288 batting average.
Ruisnek stole 16-of-18 bases he attempted and struck out just 16 times and walked 15 times, recording an on-base percentage of .514. Â
In 17 Big 12 games, Rusinek hit .433 (29-for-67) with four doubles and a triple.
Rusinek becomes the 27th all-time Freshman All-American in program history and is the sixth Red Raider since 2022. He is also the 20th all-time Freshman All-American under coach Tim Tadlock.
