The Outfielder is now 4-for-4 on All-America selections
LUBBOCK, Texas – Junior outfielder Logan Hughes was named a Third Team All-American by both the ABCA and Baseball on Friday.
The honor now makes the Deland native, four-for-four in landing on All-America teams.Â
Hughes, who was a First Team ABCA All-Region selection on Tuesday, was named a Third Team selection by the organization Friday morning before also being named an All-America selection by Baseball America.
If named an All-American by D1Baseball, Hughes would become the first unanimous All-American since 2022 when Jace Jung was named an All-American by the ABCA, the NCBWA, Baseball America, D1Baseball and Perfect Game. Â
In addition to the two selections on Friday, Hughes was named Second Team All-American by the NCBWA and a Third Team selection by Perfect Game.
A 2026 First Team All-Big 12 selection, Hughes had another big year for the Red Raiders in 2026, hitting .375 with 18 home runs and 71 RBIs. He walked 50 times and was hit by six pitches. He struck out just 33 times in 55 games.Â
Finishing with a team-best OPS of 1.263 thanks in large part to his .510 on-base percentage, Hughes became just the second Red Raider in program history to reach 20 career Big 12 home runs joining Josh Bard in that exclusive group.Â
A consensus top-50 prospect in next month's draft and a potential first round pick, Hughes in his two seasons at Texas Tech is a career .350 hitter with 37 home runs and 129 RBIs in just 107 career games. His 37 home runs are the seventh-most in program history.Â
Known for raising his game in conference play, Hughes is an all-time .384 (91-for-237) career hitter in Big 12 play and has hit 20 home runs and drove in 60 runs in those 60 contests.Â
Hughes' 60 career Big 12 RBIs are the fifth-most in program history while his 91 career hits are the ninth-most in program history. His .384 all-time Big 12 average is fourth all-time amongst Red Raiders.Â
Hughes is the Red Raiders first multi-time All-American since 2022 when Jung was named a unanimous All-American and pitcher Brandon Birdsell was named to All-America teams by Perfect Game (Third Team), D1Baseball (Third), Collegiate Baseball (Second Team) and the ABCA (Second Team).Â
Hughes became the 46th All-American in program history and the 16th all-time under head coach Tim Tadlock.Â
