Tech signs Imran Daniel Hazli

The former Baylor and San Diego State standout was ranked as a top-100 junior player
LUBBOCK, Texas -- Texas Tech Men's Tennis and head coach Michael Breler have gone back to the portal, as this time, the Red Raiders have added Imran Daniel Hazli.
A native of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Hazli joins the Red Raiders after spending the 2025-26 season at San Diego State and the 2024-25 season at Big 12 foe Baylor.
One of the Aztecs starters in 2026, Hazli went 10-7 overall in singles action including a 4-2 mark in Mountain West Play. An impressive 8-4 playing at No. 2, Hazli also played doubles where he teamed up with Eugenio Gonzalez Fitmaurice to go 10-3 in doubles action.
San Diego State finished second in the Mountain West Conference after tallying a 5-2 regular season record.
Arriving in San Diego after a season at Baylor, Hazil went 1-0 in singles play at Baylor and was a perfect 2-0 in doubles action. He also went an impressive 5-1 at the ITA D1 Texas Regional Championships and won an ITA Conference Masters First Round match.
A former top-100 ITF Junior tennis standout, Hazli went 58-17 in junior tennis singles play and won five singles titles. He represented Malaysia in both Davis Cup and SEA Games action.
Hazil is the Red Raiders second signee this portal cycle as Tech signed former Bryant standout Miguel Angel Machado back on May 27.
