As Assistant Athletic Director for Basketball Operations, Villarreal will continue overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Lady Raider Basketball program while expanding her leadership in strategic planning, resource management and external engagement. She will serve as a key liaison between the program, donors, alumni and athletic department leadership, helping identify opportunities to strengthen the program’s competitive position. Villarreal will also assume full oversight of the Lady Raiders’ 3-Point Club, directing membership initiatives, events and benefit fulfillment while supporting major operational projects and long-term program objectives.
Villarreal manages all logistical operations for the Lady Raiders, including team travel, lodging, meals, budgets, equipment, scheduling and event planning. She oversees summer camps, coordinates game-day and special event operations, and works to maximize efficiency across the program.
Prior to her promotion, Villarreal had already expanded her responsibilities to include a greater role in 3-Point Club operations, donor relations, fundraising initiatives, scheduling and management of the head coach’s public relations calendar.
During the 2025-26 season, Villarreal helped support one of the most successful campaigns in Lady Raider Basketball history. Texas Tech finished 26-8 overall and tied for fourth in the Big 12 after being picked 13th in the preseason poll. The Lady Raiders recorded their most overall wins since 2002-03, their highest conference finish since 2012-13, and their most Big 12 victories since 2004-05. The program opened the season with a school-record-tying 19-game win streak, spent 12 consecutive weeks in the AP Top 25, earned its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2013, and secured its first NCAA Tournament victory since 2005.
Before returning to her alma mater and hometown, Villarreal spent six seasons as Director of Basketball Operations at Georgia Tech, helping guide the Yellow Jackets to an NCAA Sweet 16 appearance in her second season with the program. She also served one season in the same role at Central Michigan, where the Chippewas captured a Mid-American Conference championship and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
Away from the court, Villarreal is the proud cat mom to Charlee and Oliver.
