Former Texas Tech standout Amy Gandy enters her fifth season on the Red Raider bench as the program's director of volleyball operations.
Gandy, who joined the staff during the 2009 season, handles the business functions for the program, including team travel and various day-to-day aspects. She is also actively involved in the club volleyball scene throughout the Lubbock area, helping organize club coaches and assisting with the operations of the growing program.
One of the top middle blockers in Tech history, Gandy finished the 2010 season as an assistant coach under then-interim head coach Beth Falls. Over the final nine matches, the Red Raiders showed improvement under the duo, breaking a four-year road conference losing streak and winning more sets than a Tech team had done in conference since 2007. She was retained on Don Flora's staff beginning with the 2011 season.
As a player, Gandy finished her career as one of just eight Tech players to record 1,000 career kills, while posting 367 total blocks, sixth best on the school's all-time chart. She is also one of just four Tech players to finish a career with over 300 block assists.
Gandy, known primarily as Amy Charlebois during her playing career from 2004-07, graduated from Texas Tech in 2007 with a degree in mathematics.
An Ontario, Canada native, Gandy and her husband, Eric, reside in Lubbock.
