Kacey Hanslik started working for the Texas Tech Strength and Conditioning Program for the Olympic Sports as a volunteer intern in January 2016. In September of 2016, Kacey was promoted to Graduate Assistant and earned the position of strength and conditioning coach for the Texas Tech Cross-Country Team. In September 2018, Kacey was promoted to Post Grad Intern and the supervisor for our internship program as well as the CSCCa certification candidate program. In September 2019, Kacey earned a full-time position as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Olympic Sports Strength & Conditioning staff and currently works with the Women’s Tennis Team and assists with the Women’s Volleyball team as well.
From 2011-2015, Kacey played volleyball for Lubbock Christian University. As a Division II four-year starter competing as an outside hitter she earned 1st team and other conference honors throughout her career. She also earned her 1,000th career kill early in her final season for the Lady Chaps. In 2015, she was awarded her Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Sport Science with an emphasis in Exercise and Health Promotion. In 2016, she received her Master’s of Science in Servant Leadership. Her background in strength and conditioning comes from her being a collegiate athlete and enjoying utilizing the weight room to better her performance on the court.
Hanslik has her strength and conditioning coaches certification (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association in May 2017. She is also CPR, AED, and First-Aid certified through the American Safety and Health Institute.
Kacey was born in Wray, Colorado on August 26. Both of her parents were DII collegiate athletes both at Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska. Her mother, Debbie, is an inductee into the Hastings College Athletic Hall of Fame and her father, Kelly, was a four-year starter for the Hastings College football team and received the Tom McLaughlin award for the outstanding player. Kelly is currently a roster football official for the Big XII Conference beginning in 1997. Kacey moved to Lubbock with her family in 2004 where later she attended Frenship High School graduating in 2011. She has an older sister, Kelsey, and a younger brother Kameron, who was a member of the Lubbock Christian Baseball team from 2017-2020. Kacey met her husband Brandon, a Lubbock native, at Frenship. He went on to play football for Hardin-Simmons University as a quarter-back for the Cowboys. Side-note, Brandon’s brother Nick Hanslik was a member of the Texas Tech Baseball team from 2008-2011. Kacey and Brandon were married in April 2017 and expecting their first child in June 2020.
