Red Raiders Snap Streak With Clean Sweep

LUBBOCK, Texas -- The Texas Tech men's tennis squad snapped its three-match losing streak today at the Tennis Center in Lubbock against Centenary defeating the Gent's, 6-0. The Red Raiders improved to 3-4 on the year while the Gent's dropped to 2-6.
Two of the three victories for Tech have come at home. Tech's first victory of the season came against ACU, 7-0, on Feb. 7.
Senior Borut Martincevic snapped a four-match losing streak by defeating Todd Killen in the No. 1 position in three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 6-1, improving his record to 2-4. Martincevic's other victory came in the first match of the year against ACU.
Freshman Ben Gudzelak continues to tear-up competition by beating Jimmy Allen in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4, in the No. 2 position. His record improved to a team-leading 5-1, with a 4-1 mark in the No. 2 position. He has won each match, but only one in straight sets.
Doubles play did not occur because of the weather.
The Red Raiders return to action next Tuesday, March 6, in Lubbock when they open league play against the Baylor Bears.
