Chris Phillips Earns Big 12 Co-Pitcher Of The Week

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech's Chris Phillips was named the Big 12 Co-Pitcher of the Week for his performance against the Texas Longhorns on Saturday.
Phillips, a junior right-handed pitcher from Glen Ellen, Calif., threw a career and team-high 10 innings against Texas on Saturday giving up 11 hits, five runs and three strikeouts and did not walk a batter. Phillips became one of the first pitchers in the country to reach the six-win plateau and now stands at 6-1 on the season and 1-0 in Big 12 play. Texas Tech's win on Saturday against Texas snapped a five-game losing streak by the Red Raiders.
