
Baylor Tops Men's Tennis in Waco

Waco, Tex. - The Texas Tech men's tennis team fell to #16 Baylor 6-1 on Saturday in Waco, Tex. The Red Raiders drop to 9-6 overall and 1-1 in Big 12 play, while the Bears improve to 15-1 with a 3-0 mark within the conference.
Baylor got off to a quick start by taking all three doubles matches to win the doubles point. In singles, Alfonso Perez (Guadalajara, Mexico) recorded Tech's lone win of the day in the number six match, 2-6, 6-2, 6-2.
The Red Raiders will face another difficult challenge tomorrow as they travel to Austin, Tex. to face the Texas Longhorns. Texas is 13-0 with a 2-0 mark in Big 12 play and is ranked ninth in country in the Omni Hotels Collegiate Tennis Rankings. Texas Tech entered this weekend ranked 67th.
The Red Raiders will return home to the McLeod Tennis Center on Sat. March 30, when they host ACU at 10 a.m. and UTSA at 6 p.m. All fans attending Texas Tech men's tennis home matches this season will receive free pizza with the first 50 fans in attendance receiving a free t-shirt.
