
Tech Track Teams Head North for Husker Invitational

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech track and field teams will join seven other Division-I schools, including conference foes Nebraska and Colorado, in Lincoln, Neb., in the Bob Devaney Sports Center for the Frank Sevign Husker Invitational this weekend.
The Red Raiders have already qualified for the NCAA Championships in four men's events: Mike Beasley in the high jump (7-feet-1); Jonathan Johnson in the 800-meters (1:49.94); Albert Booker in the 400M (47.12); and Tech's 1,600M-relay (3:09.85). Tech has qualified at least one athlete in three of the year's four meets thus far.
Field events for the Husker Invitational are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday with running events set to start at 4 p.m. Complete results will be posted at www.TexasTech.com following the meet.
This weekend's trip to Lincoln will be the first of two this month for the Red Raiders as the Bob Devaney Sports Complex will serve as host to the Big 12 Championships Feb. 28 - March 1. The Red Raiders will take next weekend off to rest before the conference championships.
