Stephenville, Texas - Freshman Kyle Atwood took top honors in both the 800-meter run and the 1,500, while Katie Leonard placed first in the 3,000-meter steeplechase Saturday at the Tarleton College Relays in Stephenville, Texas.
"I felt good," commented Leonard. "I had never run a race with pits before, so I was trying to survive the race without falling. I loved the race. There is something different to think about every lap because there are five barriers and people are in different positions on each lap."
The freshman from Burkeburnett, Texas, posted a time of 11-minutes, 245.40-seconds finishing almost one-half minute in front of the second-place finisher.

Tech's Adam Lawless also competed in both events finishing with marks of 2:03.06 and 4:12.87, respectively.
The men's team also sent Seth Harris (Boyd, Texas) who tied for first with a vault of 16-feet, 1-inch and Daniel Fuller (Midland, Texas) placed fifth in the shot put with a mark of 47'-5.75".
