John Harris Named Men's Basketball Play-by-Play Announcer

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech Athletics Director Gerald Myers and Loyd Senn of All Sports Radio Network announced today that John Harris will serve as the Men's Basketball play-by-play announcer for the 2003-2004 season. Harris will take over for radio legend Jack Dale, who retired after this past season.
Harris will continue to provide radio color commentary for Texas Tech Football, a position he has held for the past 19 seasons. He has served as the host and producer of several Texas Tech Basketball coaches shows, performed television play-by-play for Lady Raider NCAA Tournament games and college football play-by-play for ABC Television. He also received the Best Sportscast in Texas award for his work with KAMC-TV in Lubbock.
"John Harris is one of the best sports commentators I have ever known," stated Myers. "We are excited that John has agreed to do the play-by-play announcing for Tech Basketball. We had one of the best commentators in Jack Dale, and John Harris will do a great job as well."
Texas Tech will tip off the season on November 5 with an exhibition game against EA Sports.
