Tech Soccer Drops Texas State 3-1 On Sunday

SAN MARCOS, Texas - The Texas Tech soccer scored three goals on a rainy afternoon in San Marcos and in the process picked up its first win of the season by downing Texas State 3-1 on Sunday.
The win moves Tech's record to 1-4-1 on the season as the Red Raiders tied Stephen F. Austin on Friday night in other weekend action.
Sophomore midfielder Karen Stephens put Tech on the board just three minutes in and senior Catie Arsenault scored on a breakaway at the 12-minute mark to give the Red Raiders a 2-0 lead at halftime.
Trailing 2-0, Texas State's Alli Crain scored in the 62nd minute thanks to an assist by Ashley Brown to pull the Bobcats within one. Texas Tech put the game away when Kim Warren scored at the 82:45-minute mark to seal the 3-1 victory.
The Red Raiders will now turn their attention to Big 12 Conference play as Tech will travel to Stillwater to take on Oklahoma State on Friday night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
