Tech Track Team Heads North to Tyson Foods Invitational

LUBBOCK, Texas - The No. 22 Red Raider track team is ready to take competition on the road as they head to Fayetteville, Ark., for the Tyson Foods Invitational on Friday, 13th. The meet hosted by the 2003 defending champions Arkansas Razorbacks and Lady backs will be the first away meet for the team of the season.
At last week's Red Raider Invitational, Brionne Yosten set a school record running the 1000m in 2:50.05. The team also turned in two provisional qualifying marks with junior Shereefa Lloyd taking home first in the 55m dash with a time of 6.91. Junior Albert Booker turned in his second provisional qualifying mark, this time in the 200, with a time of 21.13.
Tech placed four events on this week's Trackwire Dandy Dozen. Junior Jonathan Johnson headlines the list, ranked second in the 800m. Booker is ranked 12th in the 400m, after setting a provisional qualifying mark at the Red Raider Classic with a time of 47.06. Both the men's and women's 4x400 teams are ranked, seventh and 10th, respectively. The teams turned in provisional qualifying marks at the Red Raider Classic with the women finishing in 3:39.35, the fourth-best time in school history. The men's team turned in a first-place finish in a time of 3:09.89.
The Tyson Foods Invitational will start at 10:30 a.m. Live results and complete results at the conclusion of the meet will be posted at www.ladybacks.com on the track and field site.
