Tech To Host Red Raider Invitational

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech will host the Red Raider Invitational this weekend, with a field of 14 schools at the Athletic Training Center in Lubbock, Texas. The team is coming off a performance at the Red Raider Classic where it turned in four provisional qualifying times.
Both the men's and women's 4x400 team turned in provisional qualifying marks this past weekend. The women's team turned in a time of 3:39.35 while the men's team finished in a time of 3:09.89. Brionne Yosten provisionally qualified in the mile with a time of 4:47.61 with Albert Booker earning a provisionally qualifying mark in the 400, with a time of 47.06. The team wrapped up the meet with 11 gold finishes.
The No. 19 mens' team has three athletes and one relay team ranked in the top 12 by Trackwire's Dandy Dozen. Jonathan Johnson is Tech's top ranked athlete, second in the 800. Tyree Gailes is ranked ninth in the men's 60m while Booker cracked the top 12 in the 400 with a 12th-place ranking. The 4x400 relay team is ranked seventh while the women's 4x400 team is ranked 10th.
The Red Raider Invitational will have a large field including Dallas Baptist, Texas Southern, Wayland Baptist, Abilene Christian, TAMU - Kingsville, Louisiana-Monroe, South Plains, McMurry, New Mexico Junior College, UT-Arlington, Southwestern Christian College, Ranger College and Pima Junior College.
The meet will begin at 10 a.m. and is open to the public at no charge. A complete schedule of events is below. Results will be posted after the meet at www.texastech.com.
