
Tech Women Finish 45th At Nationals With Four All-Americans

LUBBOCK, Texas - With points from the 2004 All-American women's 4x400 team, the women's track and field team turned in a 45th place finish at the 2004 Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark., today. LSU took top honors with the women scoring 52 points while the men scored 44.50.
The team of Tori Polk, Shereefa Lloyd, Licretia Sibley and Rachelle Evans finished in seventh with a time of 3:34.93. This is the second fastest time in school history, coming a week after the team set the school record in a time of 3:33.85.
Lloyd competed in the semi final round of the 200 yesterday with a time of 23.67 but with an 11th-place finish did not advance to finals.
Complete results can be found at www.hogwired.com. Tech will open the outdoor season next Sat., with the TTU Invitational in Lubbock, Texas. Last season was a great year for the team with the men finishing the season 17th with five athletes earning All-American status.
