
Track & Field Heads To UTEP Springtime Invitational

LUBBOCK, Texas - With one home meet under its belt, the Texas Tech track and field team heads to El Paso, Texas to compete in the UTEP Springtime Invitational on Sat., March 27. The scored meet, which will be held at the historical Kidd Field, will play host to New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and UTEP.
Tech hosted the TTU Invitational last weekend with seven Red Raider turning in regional qualifying marks including a school record in the mens 400m. Junior Albert Booker ran one of the fastest times in the nation with a 45.64 in the 400 as well as beat his own school record of 45.72, set last season. Junior Matt Stewart also set a regional qualifying mark in the 400 as well as in the 200 with times of 46.62 and 20.93, respectively. Both Stewart and Booker are members of the 4x400 relay, who are scheduled to compete this weekend.
The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. with the field events followed by the running events at 1:15 p.m. Complete results can be found at www.texastech.com.
