
Johnson Wins 800 Invitational Run At Mt. Sac Relays

LUBBOCK, Texas - Junior Jonathan Johnson turned in his second best career time in the 800m Invitational, 1:46.32, yesterday at the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif., for a first-place finish. Johnson was one of four athletes who competed at the relays while the rest of the team turned in a great finish at the 2004 Michael Johnson Invitational.
Johnson finished ahead of some of the nation's best including Nike's Bernard Lagat. His time is also the second best time in Texas Tech history and his best since 2002. Johnson is now first in the nation in the 800 moving ahead of the previous holder, Alabama's Peter Etoot who had a time of 1:46.97.
