Johnson Competes in Weltklasse Z?rich 2004

LUBBOCK, Texas - Red Raider track and field athlete Jonathan Johnson competed in the 800-meter of the Weltklasse Z?rich 2004 competition today in Z?rich, Switzerland. Johnson was one of three American runners to take part in the event. Johnson, the 2004 Big 12 and NCAA Champion in the event, ran a time of 1:47.63, earning a 12th-place finish. Johnson won the U.S. Olympic trials in the event with a personal best time of 1:44.77. Johnson will be competing in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. The first round in the 800-meter will be held Wednesday, August 25 at 9:21p.m. (Eastern European Summer Time).
