Women Finish First, Men Finish Second at Six Way Meet

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech Track and Field competed in the Wes Kittley Six-Way, held at the Athletic Training Center, in Lubbock, today. To start off the day, Geralda Dukuly placed first in the triple jump with a flight of 39'-7.25". Olivia Clardy and Mark Medley each took second in the weight throw with their marks of 50'-10.75" and 52'-9.50", respectively. Brad Kring placed first in the shot put with his throw of 53'-9.25".
The Texas Tech women swept the high jump with Misty Coley, Lacy Wilson and Julianne Kennedy sharing the first-place finish with their mark of 5'-8". The Red Raiders also swept the pole vault as Britni Lawrence and Bobby Most both earned first-place finishes with their marks of 11'-5.75" and 16'-7.25", respectively.
On the track, Tyree Gailes ran a 6.19 and a 6.22 in the preliminaries and the finals of the 55M dash, earning first-place finishes in both events. Bridget Tidwell finished second in the mile with her time of 4:59.77 as Haron Lagat also finished second in the mile as he clocked a time of 4:08.41. The Red Raider women also swept the 600Y as Shereefa Lloyd, Althea Chambers and Licretia Sibley accounted for first, second and third place, respectively.
Ruth Camacho won the 800M with her time of 2:19.12. Brionne Yosten clocked a 10:00.68 in the 3000M, good for a first-place finish. Tidwell was behind her in third place with a time of 10:07.47.
In the team scoring on the women's side, Texas Tech finished in first with 166.67 points, Baylor had 131.33, UTSA earned 91, UTEP had 59 and TCU had 42. For the men, Florida finished in first with 150 points, Texas Tech came in second with 131, Baylor earned 70, TCU had 62, UTEP had 53 and UTSA finished with 24.
