
Track Adds Local High Jumper

Lubbock, Texas - Texas Tech track and field head coach Wes Kittley announced the signing of Levelland native Justin Turner for the 2006-2007 season today. Including Turner, Kittley has inked nine during the National Signing Period.
Turner, a stand out at Levelland high school, has a high jump personal best of 7'-0", the second best mark in the state of Texas in 2005. He won the title at the District 2-3A and Region I-3A meets with marks of 6'-8". He finished second at the state meet with a height of 6'-9".
Turner also competes in the triple jump. He won the District 2-3A meet in the event with a leap of 44'-4.75" and finished second at the Region I-3A meet with a jump of 44'-8.75".
