Red Raiders Host Wes Kittley Invitational

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech Track and Field will compete in their last home meet of the indoor season this weekend as they host the Wes Kittley Invitational, Sat. Feb. 5th.
All indoor home meets will be held at the Athletic Training Center, just south of Jones SBC Stadium. Admission for the event will be $5 for adults and $3 for children. Texas Tech students are admitted with their Texas Tech ID.
The Wes Kittley Invitational will begin with the field events starting at 10:00 a.m. The running events will begin at 12:00 p.m.
Going into this weekend's meet, the men's squad is ranked tied for 9th on the Trackwire Top 25. The Dandy Dozen rankings include Tyree Gailes in 60M in fourth place, Michael Mathieu in the 400M in 11th place, Jonathan Johnson in the 800M in second place and Lacy Wilson in the high jump in 10th place. Licretia Sibley is ranked seventh in the 400M and Shereefa Lloyd is ranked 11th in the 200M. In the pole vault, Kelley Schulz is ranked 10th and Sage Thames and Bobby Most are ranked seventh and eighth, respectively. Also ranked are the men's and women's 4x400M relay teams in fifth and sixth place, respectively.
At the Wes Kittley Classic, Lacy Wilson set a new school record in the high jump with her mark of 5'-11.25" and Kyle Atwood set a new ATC record in the 1000M with his clocking of 2:25.50. Both marks are the athlete's personal best.
