Johnson, Yosten Qualify at Stanford Invitational

Palo Alto, Calif. - Brionne Yosten and Jonathan Johnson set regional qualifying marks in their respective events at the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif. this weekend.
In the 800M, 2004 Olympian Johnson ran a 1:46.78, four seconds faster then the regional qualifying time of 1:50.40. Johnson is the defending national champion and three-time Big 12 champion in the event. Johnson is also an eight-time All-American and an 11-time all-conference performer.
Yosten clocked a time of 16:45.15 in the 5000M, also a regional qualifying time. Yosten qualified for the event six seconds faster then the regional qualifying time of 16:52.00. The Hereford, Texas native is a five-time all-conference performer and won the Big 12 title in the distance medley relay during her freshman campaign.
"I'm real proud of this performance," said head coach Wes Kittley. "This is a great opener. This is the fastest opener he's had with us. I'm real excited he can open the season with a race like that."
