Kittley, a Lubbock native, is a four-year member of the track and field squad at Frenship high school. Kittley also participated in football where he was an all-district defensive back and receiver.
Kittley, eldest son of head coach and track and veteran Wes Kittley, will be part of the multi-events group, specializing in the decathlon, upon his arrival at Tech. Kittley's personal bests include a 6'-4" in the high jump, a 21'-8.5" in the long jump and a 50.4 in the 400M.
"I'm really excited Jonathan chose Tech," said head coach Wes Kittley. "I'm excited that I will get to see him and work with him on a daily basis. It is a great opportunity for him as a student and as an athlete. It will be fun for us to have him around."
