Day Two Concludes at Texas Relays

Austin, Texas - In day two of competition at the 78th annual Texas Relays, Red Raiders Jamie Robinson (decathlon) and Julianne Kennedy (heptathlon) completed their respective events.
In the decathlon, Robinson finished in 13th-place with 5,992 points. Robinson set personal bests in the 400M (53.33), the high jump (6'-6"), the long jump 23'-3.5", the shot put (42'-5.25") and the discus (120'-2").
In the heptathlon, Kennedy earned 4,709 points, good for a 14th-place finish. Kennedy posted career-bests in the 100M hurdles (14.81), the 200M (26.68), the long jump (18'-3") and the shot put (35'-10")
Tech was represented by four athletes in the prelims of the men's 400M hurdles. Shawon Harris led the way with a fourth-place finish and a regional qualifying and career-best 51.71. Bryan Scott also posted a regional qualifying time (52.10) and finished in seventh place. Terry Beard ran a 52.63 and finished in 16th place while Derron Herah clocked a personal-best 52.77 and finished in 17th place. Both Harris and Scott qualified for the finals of the event to be held on Saturday.
In the field events, Seth Harris earned a first-place finish in the B section of the pole vault with his personal-best jump of 17'-0.75", a regional qualifying mark. Also in the pole vault, Chris Ashcraft cleared a height of 16'-0.75", good for an 11th-place finish. Olivia Clardy finished 14th in the hammer throw with her toss of 164'-9".
