
Track Places 21 on Academic Honor List

Lubbock, Texas - Texas Tech track and field placed 21 of its' student athletes on the first and second Academic All-Big 12 teams, announced by the league office today.
Dana Rosenbladt was the lone Red Raider to post a perfect 4.0 grade point average. The Mandeville, La. native is majoring in mechanical engineering and was a national qualifier in the pole vault in 2004.
Also representing the women's squad on the first team (3.2+) is Stefanie Calhoun (business), Geralda Dukuly (biology), Krista Grantham (food and nutrition), Julia Hubbard (food and nutrition), Shereefa Lloyd (human development and family studies), Tori Polk (business), Kelley Schulz (pre-dental) and Lindsey Walesheck (exercise and sport science).
Brionne Yosten (math) and Irene Kimaiyo (pre-pharmacy) are members of the second team with a gpa of 3.0-3.19.
On the men's squad, Benson Cheserek (exercise and sport science), Seth Harris (biology), Shawon Harris (exercise and sport science), Derron Herah (business), TJ McLarty (business), Matt Stewart (exercise and sport science), Sage Thames (wildlife and fisheries management) and Pedro Vargas (biology) are first-team honorees.
Named to the second team are Chris Ashcraft (business) and Jared Thornhill (biochemistry).
Texas Tech track and field heads to Manhattan, Kan., this weekend for the Big 12 Championships.
