Track and Field Jumps to 14th in the Trackwire Rankings

Lubbock, Texas - Texas Tech track and field garnered a national ranking of 14, it was announced by the Trackwire Top 25, today. Trackwire ranks the men's and women's squads separately and both Red Raider teams sit at the 14th spot on the list.
This is the first time since February 8, 2005 that both squads have been ranked in the same week and it is the first time the women's squad has been ranked during the 2005 outdoor season.
The men's squad is coming off a Big 12 title and a second-place finish at the regional meet. The women's squad finished third at the conference meet, a program high, and also earned a bronze finish at the regional meet in Norman, Okla.
The Red Raiders earned a record number five individual Big 12 titles (4 men and 1 woman) and five Midwest Regional titles (4 men and 1 woman). Tech also earned 65 all-conference honors and 40 all-region honors.
