Burgess Honored By Big 12 Conference

Dallas, Texas - Texas Tech junior Daryl Burgess of the men's track team was honored as Big 12 track and field athlete of the week, it was announced by the conference today.
Burgess, in only his second race as a Red Raider, set a new school record in the 55M hurdles with a clocking of 7.35. Burgess, a native of Miami, Fla. and a transfer from South Plains College, replaced the previous school record of 7.40 set by Shawon Harris on Feb. 5, 2005. The time also provisionally qualified Burgess for the NCAA Indoor Championships.
