Kittley in Sixth After Day One at New Mexico

Lubbock, Texas - Texas Tech heptathletes have concluded day one of competition at the New Mexico Multis in Albuquerque, today. After day one, freshman Jonathan Kittley is in sixth place with 2,702 points.
Kittley, a native of Lubbock, set personal bests in three events. He marked a 6'-1.25" in the high jump, a personal best, a 7.29 in the 60M dash, a personal best, a leap of 21'-6.5" in the long jump and a toss of 35'-1.75" in the shot put, also a personal best.
Chad Andrews, a sophomore, is currently seated seventh in the event. Andrews marked a 6'-3.5" in the high jump, a throw of 40'-2" in the shot put, a run of 7.60 in the 60M dash and a leap of 20'-6.5" in the long jump.
Cale Smith, a freshman from Roscoe, Texas, is currently in ninth place with 2,603 points. Smith posted a time of 7.44 in the 60M dash, a leap of 19'-6" in the long jump, a toss of 40'-0" in the shot put, a personal best, and a high jump of 6'-1.25", also a personal best.
