Red Raiders Off to Quick Start in Florida

FT. MYERS, Fla. - The Texas Tech women's golf team is currently off to their best start of any tournament this season as the team sits in second at the GSU/Pelican Preserve Invitational. The Red Raiders have carded rounds of 293-292--585, tying the second and third lowest rounds in Tech history. The team is one shot behind the lead, which they held after the first round.
Gloriana Soto leads all Red Raiders as she sits in second place after turning in scores of 72-71--143. Melissa Fahey jumped to a tie for third after firing a 3-under 69 in the second round, bringing her to a two-round total of 144. Fahey's second-round score ties the fourth lowest in the school record books. Megan Dowdy rounds out the Red Raiders in the top 20 as she is currently tied for 13th. Dowdy has rounds of 72-76--148.
Rosalyn Kim is one place outside of the top 20, as she is in a tie for 21st with rounds of 74-76--150. Ulrika Van Niekerk has carded rounds of 77-80--157 to sit in a tie for 59th.
Louisville currently sits atop the team leaderboard with rounds of 297-287--584, one shot ahead of Tech. Florida International is in third with a two-round total of 589. Leading all individuals is Jessica Steward of Miami with scores of 69-68--137.
