Texas Tech Falls at Colorado

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) -- Richard Roby overcame a miserable day of shooting to score 17 points and Martane Freeman added 13 points as Colorado held off Texas Tech 66-64 on Saturday.
Roby, who was 3-for-11 shooting, was 10-for-11 from the free throw line as Colorado (16-5, 6-4 Big 12) snapped a two-game losing streak. Marcus Hall also had 13 points, but missed two free throws with six seconds left to give the Red Raiders a chance to win.
Jarrius Jackson led Texas Tech (12-12, 4-6) with 18 points. Martin Zeno had 17 as the Red Raiders remained winless in five conference road games.
Andy Osborn's 3-pointer put Colorado up by six early in the second half, but two baskets off inside moves by Jackson got the Red Raiders as close as 41-39 with 11:35 left. Two unforced turnovers by Colorado led to 3-pointers by Zeno and Dora, and Texas Tech took its first lead, 46-45.
Roby broke a 50-50 tie with a 3-pointer and hit two free throws with 5:41 remaining to put the Buffaloes ahead 55-50, but Jon Plefka's 3-pointer and Zeno's short jumper got the Red Raiders within 57-55 with 3:43 left.
Jackson had eight points the rest of the way, but Colorado countered with nine free throws, including three by Roby. Hall's two missed free throws led to an off-balance 3-pointer at the buzzer by Jackson that caught the front of the rim and bounded out.
Texas Tech missed its first eight shots and had four turnovers to start the game before Darryl Dora buried a 3-pointer with 14:23 left. By then Osborn had hit two 3-pointers and the Buffaloes led 9-3.
Roby's first points of the game came on a rebound basket and layup midway through the half to make it 22-8, but the Red Raiders went on a 9-0 run. Two free throws each by Dora and Zeno cut it to 25-23. Freeman came off the bench to have a layup and 3-pointer in the last 2:11 to make it 30-25 at the break.
Neither team burned the net in the first half. The Red Raiders shot 28 percent while Colorado was 9-for-33.
