Zach Glavash Earns Regional Honor

Fayetteville, Ark. - Texas Tech junior Zach Glavash was named the USTFCCCA Mountain Region Male Athlete of the Year, it was announced by the coaches' association today.
Glavash, a transfer from the University of Illinois, is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation and No. 5 in the world in the 800M. He finished second at the Big 12 Indoor Championships in the 800M with a new school record of 1:46.80.
Select members of Texas Tech track and field will compete in the 2006 Indoor National Championships, in Fayetteville, Ark., Fri-Sat., March 10-11. The Red Raiders will be represented by 11 athletes in seven events.
With the exception of the throws, all events will be held at the Randall Tyson Track Center. Events will begin at 9 a.m. on Fri., March 10 and at 11 a.m. on Sat., March 11. A detailed schedule can be found at www.ncaasports.com.
