Tech Track Inks Nation's Best Triple Jumper

Lubbock, Texas - Childress, Texas native Anthony Flemons has committed to attend Texas Tech for the 2006-2007 season, it was announced by head coach Wes Kittley, on Wednesday, marking the beginning of the signing period.
Flemons, a stand out jumper at Childress high school, has personal bests of 51'-10.25" in the triple jump and 23'-11" in the long jump. Flemons' triple jump mark is currently leading the nation. He won the triple jump at the 2006 Texas Relays with a mark of 50'-3.5", a new meet record.
In 2005, he won District 8-2A in the triple jump (46'-7") and finished second in the long jump (22'-7"). Flemons went on to win the Region I-2A meet in both events, 23'-6.75" in the long jump and 48'-7.5" in the triple jump, both new regional records. At the 2005 state meet, he won the long jump with a 23'-10.25" and finished second with a 49'-0".
