LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech Black team edged out the Red team by three shots to finish eighth and ninth, respectively, at the Jeannine McHaney on The Rawls Course. The Black team came out to fire a 296 during the third and final round and finish with a 908. The Red team turned in rounds of 311-295-305--911. The top finisher for either Tech squad and also the only top-20 Red Raider was Brynn Anderson. Anderson competed for the Black team and finished in a tie for 18th, carding rounds of 76-74-73--223 (+7).
Also playing for the Black was Christine Kovolcik, with a 22nd-place finish and rounds of 78-73-74--225. Melissa Fahey carded rounds of 79-76-73--228 to tie for 28th. Marla Troester and Tracy Stanford finished with a 237 and 238 respectively.
Despite the Red team finishing the first day six shots ahead of the Black, the Red slipped behind after firing a 305 in the final round. The Red was led by Megan Dowdy, who tied for 22nd with rounds of 77-74-74--225. Gloriana Soto and Ulrika Van Niekerk both finished with a 12-over 228 and in a tie for 28th. Rosalyn Kim tied for 36th after carding a 231, and Amanda Martinez fired a 238 to tie for 64th.
SMU pulled ahead of San Francisco after ending the first day's competition in a tie. The Mustangs finished with rounds of 292-290-296--878, 14-over-par. TCU and USF tied for second, three shots back from the leader.
Arkansas-Little Rock's Sara Wikstrom took the individual title after firing the low-round of the day, a 5-under 67, to finish with a 209 (-9).
