Tech Improves One Spot to Finish in 10th

DENVER, Colo. - The Texas Tech women's golf team fired a higher score in the third round but moved up to finish in 10th at the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate. Tech finished the tournament after carding scores of 310-299-302--911. The 54-hole score ties for their low of the season which the Red Raiders also recorded at the Jeannine McHaney Intercollegiate.
Tech failed to place an individual in the top 20, as the top finisher, Megan Dowdy, tied for 23rd with rounds of 77-71-75--223. Gloriana Soto carded rounds of 77-76-76--229 to finish in a tie for 36th. Melissa Fahey finished with the low-score of the competing Red Raiders in the third round with a 1-over 73. Fahey moved up 18 places to a tie for 40th with rounds of 78-79-73--230. Brynn Anderson tied for 43rd with scores of 78-74-79--231. Rosalyn Kim finished in a tie for 50th, turning in rounds of 78-78-78--234. Competing as an individual, Amanda Martinez placed 74th with scores of 78-76-88--242.
Host Denver continued to pace the 16-team field, as they were the only team to score under-par with an 849 (-15). BYU's Rachel Newren carded scores of 70-69-67--206 to finish 10-under-par for the individual title.
