Lady Raiders in Title Hunt at Pat Bradley

LUBBOCK, Texas - Two rounds of play are complete at the Pat Bradley Women's Golf Championship in Fort Myers, Fla., and the Texas Tech Lady Raiders are in the title hunt at just one stroke back. Tech is currently sitting in second place at 24-over 600.
South Florida is in the lead at 23-over 599. The Lady Raiders are followed by Florida Atlantic, Florida International and Middle Tennessee State at the top of the team leaderboard. Wofford, Southern Illinois, Bradley, Florida Gulf Coast, Daytona Beach Community College and Memphis round out the team standings.
Following one of the lowest rounds in school history two weeks ago at the McHaney/Morehead Invitational, Tech opened up play Monday by firing a solid 297 for the first 18 holes to put itself in third place after the first round. The Lady Raiders followed it up with a 303, the best team score of the second round, to anchor themselves in second place.
Ulrika Van Niekerk fired an even-par 72 in the first round and a 74 on the second round to lead Tech with a two-over 146 for the day. The Capetown, South Africa, native is currently in a tie for fourth place at five strokes behind the leader. Sophomore Rosalyn Kim also turned a solid showing on the day with a six-over 150 to put herself in tie for 10th on the individual leaderboard. Megan Dowdy finished right behind at 151, while Gloriana Soto, 153, and Alex Gibson, 166, rounded off the Lady Raiders' team scoring. Junior Tracy Stanford, competing as an individual, also fired a two-over 146 to tie her for fourth place.
